Shane Clodd is a professional artist and educator who holds degrees from the Ontario College of Art & Design University (OCADU) and Queen's University Faculty of Education. In his role as Visual Arts Department Head at Unionville High School, Clodd is dedicated to helping his students unlock their creative potential through inquiry-based, authentic learning opportunities that connect them to their community through the arts.
Before becoming an educator, Clodd spent nine years working in the high-end 3D animation and design industry, where he developed a unique set of digital skills including 3D printing, 3D scanning, CGI modeling, animation, rendering, and interactive media. In the classroom, he combines these skills with traditional classical media, tools, and techniques to help students find the best solution to design and aesthetic challenges.
Currently, Clodd is focused on incorporating Integrative Thinking into the creative design process as a way of supporting the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Education for Reconciliation and Calls to Action #63 (iii) and #83. He is always excited to form new collaborations with community partners on projects that support student voice, anti-racism, innovation, engagement, and achievement.
